Facility Description: Montgomery Surgery Center, a 4 OR fast-paced facility performing all surgical specialties, including ophthalmology, plastics, pediatrics, general, ENT, orthopedics, and pain management.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
PreOp/PACU RN:This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission through discharge. The RN is responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the facility.
Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient’s care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
Assumes an active role in the provision of quality nursing care with a specialized team caring for patients in the perioperative environment.
Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.
Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position in preoperative and post-operative patient care duties i.e. vital signs, IV access, medication safety, patient education, pain management.
Utilizes time effectively.
Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Espouses Continuous Improvement
Promotes the Values, Vision, and Mission of the Center.
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
At least one year of PreOp/PACU experience preferred.
Current state licensure to practice in Maryland.
Current documentation of BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification preferred.
Must be able to obtain IV access.
