You will provide thought leadership and problem solving for government customers in collaboration with stakeholders from private, federal, state and local sectors.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the rapid development of Human-Centered enabling technologies through iterative knowledge elicitation, design, prototyping, & evaluation

  • Evangelize human-centered design methodologies and theories of creativity

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary team environment to identify user needs and develop solutions

  • Conduct systematic literature reviews of empirical literature

  • Ability to work independently, developing research initiatives and utilize entrepreneurial skills to establish collaborative alliances with industry and research sources

Qualifications

Applicants selected for this position must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Only US citizens are eligible for a Security clearance. For this position, MITRE will consider only applicants with Security clearances or applicants who are eligible for Security clearances.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Human Factors Engineering, Human Centered Design, Modelling and Simulation, Cognitive Engineering or related discipline.

5 years documented success in applying one or more of the following capabilities in complex environments:

  • Business Process Development / Improvement

  • Design Thinking/ Creative Concept Development; Prototyping; Storyboarding; International Collaboration; Interviews; Knowledge Elicitation; Focus Groups

  • Interface /Dashboard development

  • Business Innovation/ Proven Expertise as a Thought Leader

  • Data Analytics / Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods

  • Project Management

  • Applying Agile methods for rapid innovation

  • Excellent Written and Presentation Skills

Desired Skills

  • Programing, psychological, physiological experimental/analytical tools: Python, Visual Basic, MATB II, XML,

MATLAB, SPSS, R, PsychoPy

  • Experience with AR/VR technologies; creation of immersive environments leveraging game development platforms, such as Unity

  • Experience with Bayesian Analytical Techniques

  • Author on peer-reviewed publications

  • Experience working with multiple Government departments or agencies is preferred, but experience working on transformational projects in other complex environments may be considered

  • Candidates holding current / active US Government security clearance(s) are highly preferred.
