Accounts Payable Support Lead
The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 60,000 pilots at 34 U.S. and Canadian airlines), seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Support Lead for our Herndon, Virginia, office. The Accounts Payable Support Lead is responsible for the overall support of the Accounts Payable (AP) department. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring staff member access to data in all systems used in the department, including business intelligence software; generating payment runs; troubleshooting and resolving systems issues with the IT department, when necessary; planning, testing, and implementing new systems used to process accounts payable; and, handling various research projects, including monthly follow-up of VISA payment issues. The AP Support Lead will have a strong working knowledge of all systems used in the AP department and assist in the training of new hires and other staff.

High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Accounting preferred; or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three (3) years of Accounts Payable experience to include accounts payable processing and technical and customer service required, five (5) years preferred.
Knowledge of Lawson Accounts Payable preferred.
Knowledge of Asset Management, Purchasing, and General Ledger preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, for effective collaboration with internal staff, external contacts, and pilots.
Software: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Sound judgment and strong analytical skills.
Knowledge of data access and display tools required.
