Kestra Financial Client Service Advisor in Germantown, Maryland

General Description

The Client Service Advisor reports to the Lead Advisor and serves as the primary contact for customer relationship management and account servicing. This position requires a strong understanding of the financial services industry and products, and is critical in handling the day-to-day client management on behalf of the Lead Advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Lead Financial Advisor with analysis, client service and technical assistance for a large book of business

  • Learn the technical aspects of the advisor position and prepare to service clients independently

  • Specific analytical responsibilities may include:

  • Attending client meetings and taking extensive notes

  • Analyzing client information and preparing reports and presentations

  • Entering information into financial planning software and preparing draft plans

  • Analyzing asset allocation and generating rebalancing trades

  • Researching products, product pricing and contacting carriers for information

  • Researching investment managers and investment services and their pricing

  • Creating custom spreadsheets for analyzing purchase decisions or planning scenarios

  • Identify sales and asset retention opportunities

  • Deepen client relationships and establish credibility and rapport

  • Specific client service responsibilities may include:

  • Answering basic questions for clients (license may be required for some)

  • Showing clients how to access their accounts and read statements

  • Presenting product information or options to clients

  • Entering or updating cost basis information

  • Interfacing with the broker-dealer or custodian to obtain information, account data and convey service requests

  • Maintain information in the CRM system

  • Set up and retrieve reports in the portfolio management system

  • Assist in generating performance reports and financial plans

    Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Advisor

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or related field

  • Series 7 and 65 required

  • CFP preferred

  • Expert knowledge of Excel and other Office applications

  • Strong time management & organization skills; able to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks at once.

  • Able to quickly master the general tools of the profession – financial planning software, analytical tools and broker-dealer, custodian, or third party manager systems

  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry allowing for a strong understanding of broker/dealer operations and financial services products. Previous experience in the independent financial services culture preferred.

  • Salary range $70,000-$85,000 depending on experience level with potential for additional bonus program.
