The Nursing Student PCT performs direct patient care tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse and performs various tasks as competency documentation designates.
Must be enrolled in an accredited RN program and have successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing with a patient care clinical component in a hospital setting. 2.5 GPA required, 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred. Must be prepared to submit college transcript and two (2) reference/evaluation letters from nursing instructors at the point of interview. The Summer Nursing Student PCT Training program will begin June 1, 2015. The program is 9 -10 weeks in length with 4 weeks of classes/clinicals between the hours of 7am-3:30pm or 8am - 4:30pm and 5-6 weeks of hands on training which includes rotating shifts and departments. Initially, you will work 40 hours per week during the summer. At the conclusion of the summer program, Nursing Student PCT's are obligated to work on a PRN basis until graduation or one year, which ever is greater. Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant license is required. Must maintain current CPR license.
