Leidos Unix Technical Manager in BALTIMORE, Maryland
The Civil Health Operation is currently seeking a Unix Technical Manager to support a large healthcare contract in Baltimore.
This position provides leadership for those involved in the design, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and processes of one of more IT and systems functions supporting customer business processes and technical information system platforms - specifically, the Unix / Linux / Solaris / WebSphere and similar technologies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the management of deployment, maintenance, optimization, and processes provided by staff within the team being managed . Provides direction for the effort required to protect the customer's data, tools and information systems. Ensures that infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility. Leads the team in deploying, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the technology products, processes, standards and operational plans in support of the Infrastructure organization. Has budget, personnel, and administrative accountability. Provides Leidos management, staff and customer with plans, status, issues, risks of the systems functions performed by the team. Activities involve multiple deployments, technical support, maintenance, problem resolution, and development of ROMs and proposals for multiple projects. Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead the Unix / Linux / Solaris / WebSphere team. Typically has advanced knowledge and skills for the technologies supported and a broad range of knowledge of the other areas within the technology infrastructure organization.
BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
