Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Data Entry / Helpdesk Support for immediate employment in our Arlington,VA office. This position supports our Department of Defense (DoD) client’s mission to track hazardous material and hazardous waste at military installations around the world. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a history of data management and customer support. This position requires extensive data research and entry, analysis of data accuracy and consistency, and professional customer support for military and civilian software users.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides timely and appropriate support to DoD and other federal clients' hazardous materials and hazardous waste programs

  • Develops awareness of and familiarity with issues and events affecting organization, department, and/or customer

  • Provides administration and operational support for IT systems (e.g., user accounts, password resets, data entry)

  • Provides advice and demonstrates use of software and hardware to end-users

  • Processes support requests submitted through email, phone, or fax

  • Researches and retrieves hazardous material safety data sheets from product manufacturers

  • Evaluates data quality and consistency, applications, and functions

  • Uses and supports database applications and analytical tools

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • 4+ years of IT help desk and/or customer service related experience

  • Ability to collect, enter, manage, and query large volumes of data

  • Ability to work with small internal team

  • Ability to interact and may have some interaction with client’s personnel

  • Good oral and written communication skills with external and internal clients, and excellent problem solving skills

  • Superior data entry skills and attention to detail

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer Support History (e.g., bank teller, military assistance/support volunteer, IT help desk)

  • Knowledge of and/or experience with the U.S. Marine Corps
